DONATE TO MEMA
Maine Music Alliance is ready to fight for Portland's independent music venues.
Our community has achieved something monumental. The outpouring of support for Maine’s independent music scene has far exceeded anything we dared to imagine. This first win is powerful, and it belongs to all of us. But let’s be clear: this is just the beginning. There’s no room for complacency.
The threat from Live Nation is immediate, but it revealed something deeper, a serious vulnerability in our local music ecosystem. We weren’t prepared. There were no safeguards, no structure in place to defend what we’ve built.
That changes now.
We’ve officially submitted the paperwork to form a 501(c)(6) trade organization, an entity that will advocate for all of Maine’s independent music economy. Not just in response to this moment, but as a lasting force for protection, representation, and progress at the city, state, and federal levels.
To build something that lasts, we need your continued support. Launching a statewide advocacy organization takes resources—legal fees, organizing efforts, outreach, and infrastructure. If you believe in the future of independent music in Maine, now is the time to invest in it.
This is how we protect our stages, our venues, our artists, and our culture.
Together, we’re not just reacting, we’re building power.
